THE LEADING HOUSE OF THE NORTH

The Starks reigned as Kings in the North until the Targaryen conquest, which they then served as the region’s curator for 300 years. Robb Stark cut ties with King’s Landing and declared himself King in the North, after the execution of his father. His hit of independence turned biolent when Walder Frey and Roose Bolton murdered both Robb and Catelyn Stark at the Red Wedding (a massacre). In an allience arranged by Lord Petyr Baelish, Sansa Stark married Ramsay Bolton when she returned to Winterfell, who terrorized her. Sansa escaped him and reunited with her brother, Jon Snow. With the help of Littlefinger, Sansa and Jon were able to take back Winterfell, and Jon was proclaimed King of the North
